January comes and goes and still no real, meaty album from the poet slash rapper, Mr. Kanye West. There’s still no real word (IN ALL CAPS OR OTHERWISE) that says he’s even going to release a new Kanye West album in 2010. (Although… there was this!) Okay, so we all know it’s coming and we’re waiting in anticipation.

Many Kanye West fanatics agree that Graduation is the best Kanye West album. Graduation, Kanye West’s third release in a fanciful trilogy of his scholarly albums, wears its badges of success of its predecessors on its sleeve. Apparently, matriculation pays off with rewards and it is high time to take stock.
In terms of lyrics, there are a lot of self-congratulation events worth attending to; however, the real fun here comes in the collaboration, and Kanye West chooses his co-conspirators like a graduating kid getting his candy reward from the store – Coldplay’s Chris Martin for “Homecoming”, John Legend for “Good Life“, Mos Def and the Section Quartet (great choices for the “Drunk and Hot Girls”), and he plucks his samples with top braggadocio: Steely Dan, Elton John, Can, Daft Punk, Public Enemy, and Michael Jackson.
Though Graduation technically earmarks a memorable junior year, West’s approach to completing this album was very much like a senior. This only proves that West has continued to prove and show his appreciation and understanding for different types of music as well as musical influences.
What makes people think Graduation is the best Kanye West album? Well, like most of his titles, his blindness and fearlessness to holding back boundaries, paired with his fan driven expertise and competence is an evidence that he knows what people are looking for – perspective, great voice, and most of all, great music! If you get all these in one album, wouldn’t you think this album is the best?

Kanye West seems to have a New Year present to his fans with the Kanye West new album he is currently working on in his studio these days. From Kanye West’s revelation in his Kanyeuniversecity.com blog, Kanye revealed that he will be taking one step away from his traditional rap style on this new album, and he even described himself here as a “true poet.”
West stated that he is happy to be back making new music in the studio and even promised to bring his fans the best he has to offer with the same commitment and dedication Michael Jordan has on the basketball court. He added that he thinks it is so funny to see how many rappers get worse as they move on to stretch out their career, but poets improve and get better over time.
Kanye said he and his team will be following the footsteps of Gill Scott-Heron, Maya Angelou, and Nina Simone. He is so inspired with how their works improved with experience and time as well as how these personalities documented everything that had been happening in the culture. Kanye West said he believes that modern day poets and artists should take this as a responsibility.
West added that with the Kanye West new album, he would like to bring out a real sense of realism. With these statements of promises, it seems that his fans definitely has something to look forward to and the Kanye West new album would surely become a real hit once again!
